Lisa’s House is a non-profit 501 (c) 3, serves the needs of the homeless and less fortunate women in Kansas City, Missouri, who request our services. Our mission is to equip and empower our clients to be self-sufficient and independent. Our vision is to transform our community by breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty in Kansas City through mobilizing a culture of generosity.

A Day in the Life

Lisa’s House collaborates with other agencies offering targeted services to meet women’s emotional, physical, and mental needs. Lisa’s House provides necessary transitional housing and also mentors and nurtures residents by providing the emotional support of living in a family environment.

A client of Lisa’s House is provided a safe place to stay and can take advantage of the services of other agencies in the community during the day to positively and proactively pursue job or educational opportunities. For example, during daytime hours clients can go to a neighboring agencies, to meet their educational and employment seeking needs. If a client is in need of transportation to an interview, the client is provided a bus pass, as available.

As an extension of the services described above, the client then returns to Lisa’s House for an evening meal and shelter. There are accommodations for four women, where they can stay for six months to a year while they get back on their feet.

How you can help

We are requesting your help with cash donations, gifts cards or monthly room sponsorship of $300.00 per month. We would appreciate any assistance you can provide in furthering our mission of providing shelter for these women in our community.

All monies or gifts received will be used to assist and support the clients residing at Lisa’s House.
